Donald A. “Pete” Peterson, 60, Newry, died March 1, 2015, at home.

He was born in Milwaukee, Wis., son of the late Alfred and Audrey (Szynkouski) Peterson.

Surviving are a son, Ryan of Hollidaysburg; a sister, Diane Bowlin (Fred) of Davidson, N.C.; a brother, Alfred “Butch” of Milwaukee, Wis.; and his former wife, Tracy Wyatt (Don) of Hollidaysburg. He is also survived by a nephew, Shane Bowlin, and Shane’s daughter, Emma.

Pete was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He had worked as an administrator at the Van Zandt VA Medical Center.

A service with military honors and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
