Two city brothers are behind bars for their alleged role in an alleged attack on a teen that resulted in a brain bleed.

Jay, 20, and Dakota Seville, 21, were arraigned Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge Daniel C. DeAntonio. Jay Seville faces two felony counts of aggravated assault, a single felony count of robbery, two misdemeanor counts of simple assault and single misdemeanor counts of theft and receiving stolen property, while Dakota Seville was charged with single felony counts of conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, single misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to commit simple assault, conspiracy to commit receiving stolen property and conspiracy to commit theft.

Jay and Dakota Seville were remanded to the Blair County Prison after being unable to pay their respective bails of $50,000 and 10% of $30,000, online court documents state.

The charges were filed after Altoona police responded to the Juniata Memorial Park along West 12th Avenue on Aug. 31 for a report of a juvenile being assaulted. Witnesses told officers another juvenile punched the victim twice in the face before picking him up and slamming him to the ground, causing the victim to lose consciousness, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

A witness reported seeing an individual, later identified as Jay Seville, remove a fanny pack from the victim before fleeing the scene with the juvenile attacker, the police report states.

In an interview, a witness told police he went to the park after hearing that the victim had a gun and was threatening to shoot others. The witness said that after the fight, Jay took the victim's fanny pack, which supposedly contained the gun, the report states.

When officers spoke with Jay Seville, he said Dakota Seville drove him and two other individuals to the park to play basketball. He denied knowing the juvenile was going to fight the victim but after hearing the victim might have a gun, he took the fanny pack, the report states.

Jay Seville told police he found what appeared to be a BB gun in the fanny pack and threw the pack into a creek. Police noted that while they were able to recover a fanny pack, they were unable to locate a BB gun.

The victim's mother told officers that the victim suffered a skull fracture, brain bleed, broken arm, broken toe and damage to the left eye as a result of the attack, the report states.

The brothers are scheduled for preliminary hearings Oct. 7 in front of DeAntonio.
