A new $169 million Sheetz food manufacturing and distribution center in Findlay, Ohio, will begin operations Oct. 11.
On Tuesday, local, regional and state leaders officially cut the ribbon on the new facility, which will create more than 750 jobs over the next five years and bring new employment opportunities to Findlay, Hancock County and the Northwest Ohio region. More than 200 people are currently employed at the facility, according to a news release from Sheetz.
The opening of the facility comes as Sheetz continues to expand its presence across Ohio, where the company currently operates 140 stores and employs more than 4,000 people.
"(Tuesday) marked a significant milestone for Sheetz as we celebrated the completion of this leading-edge facility, representing a $169 million investment in the Findlay community and creating hundreds of quality jobs for area residents," said Sheetz President and CEO Travis Sheetz. "This ribbon-cutting represents far more than an opening of a new facility, it marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our company in Ohio and the Midwest region. As we continue our ambitious growth across the state and region, this facility will help us serve more customers, create new opportunities for our communities and bring our all-in-one convenience experience to even more people."
As part of Tuesday's events, Sheetz presented a $10,000 donation to the West Ohio Food Bank in recognition of Hunger Action Day. The donation will go toward supporting the organization's mission of providing nutritious food to those in need locally. The West Ohio Food Bank serves 11 counties in west Ohio, aiding more than 72,000 food-insecure individuals annually.
"We are incredibly proud to officially welcome Sheetz to Findlay," said Findlay Mayor Christina Muryn. "Projects of this scale don't happen without strong partnerships, a talented workforce and a community that is willing to work together to get things done. From the beginning, Sheetz has been a great partner, and we appreciate the confidence they have placed in Findlay and Hancock County. I'm excited to see their team become part of our community and to watch this investment be a catalyst for both Findlay and Sheetz."
While Sheetz has already hired many new employees for the distribution center, hiring efforts will continue as the facility prepares to begin operations.
Sheetz's Findlay facility is the company's third distribution and food manufacturing facility, joining those already operating in Claysburg and Burlington, North Carolina.
Indiana state location announced
Sheetz also announced the future location of its first-ever store in Indiana. Located at 1505 E. 86th St., Indianapolis, the new store is expected to break ground next spring and open to the public in late summer 2027. The Indiana expansion marks another step in Sheetz's continued growth across key Midwestern markets.
Sheetz currently operates 850-plus store locations across Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Michigan, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and Maryland, with all locations open 24/7, 365 days a year.
