Green, who was appointed to the commission in December 2025 as representative of Region 6 (Huston Township, Martinsburg Borough, North Woodbury Township, Roaring Spring Borough and Taylor Township) to fill the remainder of Linda Smith's term through Dec. 31, was recently appointed acting superintendent of the Spring Cove School District.

Green had been serving as the commission's secretary and had been appointed as interim acting planning director upon the resignation of David McFarland in April. Jessica Sheets was named permanent planning director in June. Members also voted to appoint Peter Folen to succeed Green as secretary.
