A longtime Hollidaysburg auto dealership has changed hands.
Fiore Automotive Group -- Fiore Toyota, Volkswagen and Audi -- has been sold to Preston Auto Group of New Castle.
The new business will be called Toyota of Altoona, Volkswagen of Altoona and Audi of Altoona.
"I've been a Toyota, Volkswagen Audi dealer for 36 years, I am 68, I am ready to sell and retire. I've been here for 36 years and in the auto business for 46 years. I started with my father Anthony 'Chubby' Fiore at Fiore Buick in 1980. It's time," said owner Daniel Fiore, who was a partner with his brother David in Fiore Buick GMC when it was sold to Stuckey Automotive Group in 2018.
Daniel Fiore said his 45 full- and part-time employees are expected to be retained by the new owners.
"My main concern was looking out for my people. I wanted to make sure my people were included," Fiore said. "I want to thank all of my employees for 36 years, both past and present. I had a lot of longtime employees. I also want to thank the people of central Pennsylvania who patronized us for 36 years, without them nothing happens."
In retirement, Fiore said he plans to spend more time with his granddaughter, children and wife and travel a little bit.
