HOLLIDAYSBURG -- The Blair County Department of Social Services has scheduled two more webinars to help those interested in applying for a portion of Blair County's allocation from the National Opioid Settlement.

The county expects to receive about $700,000 in its next allocation. Applications for a portion of that money need to be submitted by Oct. 9.

Tricia Johnson, director of the county's social services department and the chair of a committee that evaluates applications, will host one-hour webinars at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, and 5 p.m Monday, Sept. 21.

During the webinar, Johnson will review who is eligible to apply, how the funding process works and rules associated with Exhibit E, a portion of the litigation settlement describing how the money is to be used to abate and remediate the harm resulting from the nation's opioid epidemic.

Those interested in registering for the webinar should send an email to Johnson at tjohnson@blaircountypa.gov or look for social media postings with QR codes to join a session.
