Allegany launches $65M campaign in Bedford

Allegany College of Maryland celebrated its commitment to Bedford County and the surrounding region Friday with the Pennsylvania launch of "Inspire Hope. Empower Tomorrow." The $65 million comprehensive campaign aims to invest in students and strengthen the communities ACM serves.
Community leaders, supporters, alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends gathered at ACM's Bedford County Campus in Everett to mark the public launch of the campaign.
The campaign comes during ACM's 65th anniversary year and represents an investment in the College's future across both its Cumberland and Bedford County campuses.
"For generations, Allegany College of Maryland has opened doors and created opportunities for students and families throughout our region," said David Jones, president of Allegany College of Maryland. "Our Bedford County Campus demonstrates what can happen when education, employers and communities work together. This campaign allows us to build upon those partnerships and ensure even greater opportunities are available close to home."
The Bedford County Campus extends ACM's mission across state lines, providing students in Pennsylvania and the surrounding region with access to career-focused programs, transfer opportunities and workforce training. Strong partnerships with local schools, employers and community organizations help ensure that ACM programs respond to the educational and economic needs of the community.
The $65 million campaign will advance opportunities across both ACM campuses through investments in scholarships, facilities and campus enhancements, workforce training and continuing education, and direct student support.
For Bedford County, those investments represent an opportunity to continue strengthening access to education while preparing students for careers that contribute directly to the region's workforce and economy.
"Bedford County has long demonstrated the power of community partnerships and the difference those partnerships can make in the lives of students," said Beth Manges, Bedford County Campus vice chair. "This campaign gives us an opportunity to dream even bigger about what education can mean for Bedford County."
Dan Koontz, Bedford County Campus vice chair, added, "When we invest in students, we are also investing in families, employers and the future of our communities. The impact of this campaign will be felt for generations."
Gifts supporting the campaign may be made through the ACM Foundation and the Bedford County Regional Education Foundation and may include one-time contributions, multi-year pledges, recurring gifts, gifts of securities or other assets and planned giving.
