Drivers are restricted to one lane due to a paving project on I-99 South near the Pinecroft exit, PennDOT announced.
Short delays should be expected from mile marker 38.4 to 29.4. Work on the passing lane began Monday and is scheduled to continue through Oct. 9. Once the work is finished, the passing lane will be opened and the travel lane will be closed for the same project.
Work includes milling, paving, line painting, joints and rumble strip installation.
New Enterprise Stone and Lime Inc. is the contractor for the $26.7 million overall project, which spans from the Newry crossover to the Plank Road interchange.
Suicide prevention group hosts event
The Blair County Suicide Prevention Task Force will host a free Suicide Prevention Summit from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Bavarian Aid Society.
The event will include mental health resource tables, presentations, CALM training led by Leah Hmel, a presentation by guest speaker Julieanna Kear, lunch and a screening of "My Ascension" followed by a panel discussion.
The task force, established in 2004 under the Blair County Mental Health Office, brings together representatives from local organizations to promote suicide prevention, education, awareness and community support.
