Members of the Logan Township Supervisors board mourned one of their own during their Thursday meeting.
Member Patrick T. Jones died from an accident on his farm about 3:15 p.m. Thursday afternoon, chairman James Patterson said while holding back tears.
Jones was a retired Magisterial District judge, serving 39 years as the longest tenured judge in Blair County history, according to a Mirror article published in 2019.
After discussing new business at the meeting, member Ronald Heller expressed his condolences to Jones' family.
Heller worked with Pat for about 40 years while serving as a Logan Township police officer.
"We had to call Pat, Pat would come out for everything he has," Heller said. "He was a good man."
Member Wesley Barnhart seconded Heller's condolences, stating that he knew Jones on a more personal than professional level.
"He was a great person and he had a sense of humor," Barnhart said.
