The Bellwood man accused of raping an unconscious woman in March 2021 was convicted Wednesday of rape and related charges following a two-day jury trial.

A Blair County jury found Brian Lee Campbell, 43, guilty of single felony counts of rape and sexual assault, as well as two misdemeanor counts of indecent assault. Two felony counts of aggravated indecent assault were dismissed.

Presiding President Judge Wade A. Kagarise scheduled Campbell's sentencing for 8:30 a.m. Nov. 5 in courtroom 4. He ordered a pre-sentence investigation be completed and for Campbell to undergo an evaluation by the state Sexual Offenders Assessment Board.

Campbell was remanded to the Blair County Prison awaiting sentencing. He had been free on 10% of $25,000 bail since March 10, 2021.

Campbell was charged in the case after the victim told police she had woken up to Campbell, who had been sleeping on her couch, having sex with her. When the victim asked Campbell what he was doing, he fled the residence, the police report states.
