The South Fork man convicted of first-degree homicide for killing 55-year-old Richard Morgan in May 2023 was sentenced to life in prison without parole, plus an additional six to 12 years.
Austin Louise Kline, 26, was convicted by a jury in early May 2026 of criminal homicide, felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor abuse of a corpse and misdemeanor tampering with evidence.
In handing down Kline's sentence, presiding Judge Tamara Bernstein said his crimes were "of the most extreme" nature deserving of the statutory maximum sentence.
