AASD offers summer food program
The Altoona Area School District will operate its annual Summer Food Service Program beginning Wednesday, June 10, and running through Friday, July 31, at the Altoona Area Junior High School and the Juniata and Pleasant Valley elementary schools. Sites will be closed on July 3.
Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Meals will be available free-of-charge for preschool and school-age children, 18 years of age or younger. Adults attending with their children may purchase a meal at a cost of $4.85. Lunches will feature kids’ favorites: cheeseburgers, hot dogs, pizza, chicken nuggets, corn dogs, French fries and more.
Library fundraiser celebrates America250
Cambria County Library, 248 Main St., Johnstown, is hosting a raffle fundraiser for a Colonial Williamsburg prize package worth more than $600.
In honor of America’s 250th birthday, each ticket is $17.76. The drawing will be held July 3.
The prize includes a $500 Colonial Williamsburg gift card that can be used for admission, dining, accommodations, golf, shopping and museums in Colonial Williamsburg.
In addition, the winner will receive a $100 Sheetz gift card and a road trip gift basket featuring a cooler of snacks.
Tickets can be purchased at the library’s third floor circulation desk or online at www.cclsys.org/cambria .
Ticket proceeds will go toward the library’s operational costs.
Basket raffle supports Ebensburg library
The Ebensburg Cambria Public Library, 225 W. Highland Ave., Ebensburg, is hosting its annual premium basket raffle, with all baskets valued at $50 or more. Tickets are $10 for 26 chances.
In addition, the library has raffle tickets available for elite baskets, valued at $275 or more. Tickets for the elite baskets are $5 each or three tickets for $10.
The baskets are on display in the library.
The drawing for both basket categories will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 25. Ticket buyers do not need to be present to win.
All proceeds benefit the library.
Cancer assistance fund marks 20 years
The Bob Perks Cancer Assistance Fund is celebrating its 20-year anniversary in 2026.
Since its beginnings, the organization has raised and given over $3.5 million to more than 6,000 cancer patients and their families.
The fund is holding a “$20K for 20 Years” online giving campaign that kicked off June 1 and will continue for 20 weeks. The goal of $20,000 will provide funding for 20 patients and families.
In 2025, BPF raised and allocated nearly $419,000 to 537 cancer warriors living in its seven-
county service area.
