Altoona man accused of raping two women
Homan allegedly assaulted two women in separate events
A city man is behind bars after a monthslong investigation into allegations he raped two women.
Hunter Elliot Homan, 23, was arraigned Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge Andrew L. Blattenberger on four felony counts each of rape and sexual assault, four misdemeanor counts of indecent assault, three misdemeanor counts of simple assault and two misdemeanor counts each of false imprisonment and unlawful restraint.
He was remanded to the Blair County Prison in lieu of $400,000 bail.
The investigation into Homan began Sept. 10 when one of the victims walked into the Logan Township Police Department to report a past sexual assault. The victim told officers she was at Homan’s residence along the 100 block of Homan Lane in Altoona on Feb. 22, 2025, when they began to have consensual sex. The sex began to hurt so she told Homan to stop several times but he refused, saying “five more minutes won’t hurt anyone.” The victim said she tried to make Homan stop, but he restrained her legs, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
On Sept. 12, officers interviewed a second victim regarding the sexual assault investigation. The second victim told officers of three separate incidents of rape, the first of which occurred in January 2023 when she was at Homan’s residence. She said Homan had been drinking when he punched her in the jaw after she “said something wrong to him.” The second victim said Homan threw her to the ground and, when the second victim said she didn’t want to have sex, Homan told her “well you don’t have a choice.” The second victim said she tried to push Homan off of her and repeatedly told him to stop, but Homan refused, the police report states.
The second incident occurred in October 2023 when the second victim was alone with Homan at her residence. A verbal argument began between them, during which Homan spit in the second victim’s face. The second victim then told Homan to leave but he refused and shoved her into a wall, the report states.
During the argument, Homan threw the second victim onto her stomach and raped her, despite her pleas for him to stop.
The third sexual assault occurred on New Years Eve into New Years Day 2023-24. The second victim told officers that Homan coerced her into having sex with him by threatening to commit suicide, according to the affidavit.
During the interview, the second victim described possessive and controlling behavior Homan displayed toward her. She said Homan would watch her while she was at work and would become jealous whenever she spoke to another male. She told officers that Homan would continually threaten to commit suicide if things didn’t go his way, whether it be sexually or generally, the report states.
The second victim said Homan accused her of cheating on him numerous times and went through her phone so he could see if she was talking to other males. She told officers that following each sexual assault, Homan would send her money through CashApp so she wouldn’t talk about the incidents with anyone. When she showed officers her CashApp transactions with Homan, they totaled about $1,000, the report states.
The second victim also showed officers photographs she took of herself following the assaults, which showed a scratch and swelling above her eye, as well as injuries to her neck and abdominal area. The neck injuries were consistent with possible strangulation, while the abdominal injury showed redness and swelling, according to the affidavit.
Homan is scheduled for a preliminary hearing June 25 in front of Magisterial District Judge Matthew Dunio.
