Block party marks Juneteenth
The Juneteenth Community Block Party will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 19, at Prospect Park, 112 S. 15th St., Altoona.
Symphony has free concert at Curve stadium
The Altoona Symphony Orchestra will perform a Star Spangled Symphony concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at PNG Field. Gates will open at 6:30 for pre-concert entertainment. Admission is free.
Photography exhibition honors America250
ArtsAltoona will host the “America 250 Photography Exhibition” from 12 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at the ArtsAltoona Center, 2212 Sixth Ave., Altoona. The event is free and celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States through a juried photography exhibition featuring selected works from area amateur photographers. Guests are invited to view the exhibition and participate in Fan Favorite voting from 12 to 3:30 p.m. Voting tickets will be available, with $5 getting you six votes to use for your favorite photos. The photograph receiving the most votes will be recognized with the Fan Favorite Award.
‘Let Freedom Ring’ theme of tribute
P&J Productions, Penn State Altoona, and the City of Altoona proudly present “Let Freedom Ring!” a musical tribute celebrating America’s 250th birthday. Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 27, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 28 at the Paul R. & Margery Wolf Kuhn Theatre, Misciagna Family Center for the Performing Arts, Penn State Altoona Campus. Railroaders museum hosts wing fest, fireworks
Railroaders Memorial Museum, Altoona, will present Main Line Mania, Wing Fest & Firework Show Friday, July 3. Gates open at 4 p.m. Live music from K4 Kountry, 7th Virtue and Josh Gallagher will run from 5 to 10 p.m. Fireworks will begin at dusk. Walk-in admission is $5 per person, parking is $10 per car.
