Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce pleased by success of Irish Heritage festival
This year’s Irish Heritage festival was a successful event for the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce, according to President Diane Irwin, who thanked everyone who participated during the chamber’s regular meeting Wednesday.
“Everything went well,” Irwin said of the event.
According to chamber board member Chad Hunter, the Tyrone Race Series’ Gold Rush race had about 340 participants this year.
That was the most participants they’ve ever had for the race, Hunter said, adding the next race will benefit the Neptune Fire Company No. 1 on June 20.
Hunter said the Tyrone Improvement Group just finished presales for its veterans banners, which will go up in the beginning to middle of May.
There were a lot of new banners this year, he said, adding they’re expecting to have more than 300 banners on display this year.
The chamber’s next chamber breakfast meeting will feature Tyrone Borough Mayor John Harlow as a guest speaker, Irwin said, adding Harlow will discuss how the borough operates and give an update about Tyrone’s future.
The meeting will be held about 7:30 a.m. April 16 at the Family Chill and Grill restaurant, 13524 South Eagle Valley Road.
The cost to attend is $15. Reservations are appreciated but walk-ins are welcome, Irwin said.
Reservations can be made by calling the chamber office, 814-684-0736, or by emailing rose@tyronechamber.com.
