Work to begin on Interstate 99
Drivers along Interstate 99 in Blair County may encounter short delays the next two weeks.
From Monday, April 13, to Friday, April 24, workers will complete work, including highway markings, grading, delineation and completion of 17th Street drainage. The work will be conducted between mile markers 26 in Blair Township and 33 near the 17th Street exit.
All work will be conducted during the day. Short-term lane closures between Plank Road and 17th Street exits will begin at 9 a.m. and lane closures between Cross Keys and Plank Road will begin at 7 a.m.
New Enterprise Stone and Lime Inc. is the contractor for the $26.7 million project.
Breezewood lane closure in place
PennDOT announced short delays along Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) in Breezewood, Bedford County, starting on Monday, April 13.
A short-term lane closure will be implemented in the westbound lane of Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) between Post House Road and the exit ramp for Interstate 76.
Motorists can expect lane-restrictions under standard daylight flagging operations and short delays.
Resurfacing project may cause delays
Drivers in Tyrone Borough and Snyder Township may experience brief delays starting Monday, April 13, for continued work on a pavement resurfacing and stabilization project.
Work will run through Friday, April 24, and delays along Route 453 should only last a maximum of five minutes.
New Enterprise Stone & Lime Inc. is the lead contractor for the $8.4 million project, which includes resurfacing on Route 453 (East 11th Street/Pennsylvania Avenue/East 14th Street/Lincoln Avenue/West 15th Street) from Interstate 99 to T-514 (Beastons Road) and on Route 4027 (Pennsylvania Avenue) from Route 453 to Old U.S. 220 (Pennsylvania Avenue/South Eagle Valley Road) in Tyrone Borough and Snyder Township.
The project includes a 23.5-mile detour through late August 2026, using Route 453, I-99, Route 865 (Bellwood Interchange) and Route 253 (Skyline Drive/Executive Drive/Cambria Street).
Restrictions in place along Route 36
Short delays can be expected starting Monday, April 13, along Route 36 Northbound in Frankstown Township.
According to a PennDOT news release, lane restrictions will be in place for the continuation of a resurfacing and drainage project. Work will run through Friday, April 24, depending on weather conditions.
New Enterprise Stone & Lime Inc. is the lead contractor for the 3.5-mile, $5.4 million project, which includes pavement resurfacing, drainage work, guide rail and sign upgrades on Route 36. Work is scheduled for completion in October.
Drainage installation project to begin
Drivers along Route 866 (High Street and Piney Creek Road) may experience lengthy delays starting Monday, April 13.
PennDOT said lane restrictions will be in place in Williamsburg Borough and Woodbury Township in Blair County beginning Monday and running through Thursday, April 16. Delays of up to 15 minutes can be expected during the day while crews install new drainage.
