One person is dead following a house fire in Portage Township Wednesday afternoon.

Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees confirmed that a man was killed in the blaze. His identity has not yet been released.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the 4000 block of Portage Street about 2 p.m. Wednesday for reports of a fire with entrapment.

According to WJAC, firefighters reportedly pulled the man from the home after flames broke out on the first floor of the residence.

The state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
