A Philadelphia man was arrested in Altoona on Wednesday after a traffic stop yielded a large amount of fentanyl and cocaine.
Keith Fatim Lamo Harris, 31, was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Daniel C. DeAntonio on four felony counts of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, four misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and one misdemeanor count each of possession of marijuana – personal use and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Unable to post $200,000 bail, he was remanded to the Blair County Prison.
According to police records, officers from the Blair County Drug Task Force and state police troopers conducted a traffic stop at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday on a vehicle in the area of 700 Chestnut Avenue after the vehicle changed lanes without using a turn signal.
Officers noticed a strong smell of marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. The vehicle was an Uber in which Harris was a passenger. K-9 Officer Blue conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of a controlled substance, according to police records.
It was determined Harris was in possession of a small amount of marijuana and was taken into custody. Police then secured a search warrant for Harris’ belongings, which contained 320 packets of heroin/fentanyl with a street value of approximately $6,400; 1 ounce of crack cocaine with a street value of $2,800; 6 grams of packaged cocaine with a value of $600; and 1 ounce of marijuana with a value of $200.
