Roaring Spring standoff suspect taken into custody
Hale charged with terroristic threats for incident in Roaring Spring
A Hopewell man is behind bars after allegedly causing a police standoff in Roaring Spring when officers attempted to execute a warrant for his arrest.
Online court documents show that Coty Allen Hale, 35, was charged Sunday with single felony counts of making terroristic threats and risking catastrophe.
State police at Bedford stated Monday’s standoff was a result of Hale’s arrest warrant on those charges.
Hale was taken into custody without injury after surrendering to officers at a residence in the Poplar Street area.
He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Kayla Hetzel and remanded to the Bedford County Correctional facility with bail denied because “no condition or combination of conditions will ensure compliance,” court documents state.
Hale is scheduled for a preliminary hearing April 1 in front of Hetzel.
It is unclear if Hale has been charged in relation to the standoff.
