Roaring Spring police probe door-to-door solicitors

The Roaring Spring Police Department is asking residents in Roaring Spring Borough and surrounding areas to be alert for individuals claiming to be Breezeline solicitors.

In a letter to residents posted on the department’s Facebook page, police said individuals are going door-to-door peddling their business, oftentimes after dark, late in the evenings.

Police are investigating, as the department stated there is no peddler’s license on file for the door-to-door effort, although a peddler’s license is required.

In one instance, a homeowner reportedly asked for an individual’s peddler license, to which the individual became upset and began arguing with the homeowner, police said in the letter.

Police noted that soliciting hours in the borough are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Anyone who comes in contact with any of the individuals should contact 911.

Starting at $2.99/week.
