Bedford paving, bridge restoration project will cause delays

PennDOT announced that lane closures will begin along U.S. Route 30 in Bedford Borough Monday.

The traffic changes will be between Scenic Road and Pitt Street and on Route 1033 (Sunnyside Extension).

Temporary barriers will be placed between March 23 and April 6 on the U.S. 30 west bypass ramp and the right lane of Pitt Street. The right lane and shoulder of Route 4010 (Pitt Street) east of Bedford will be closed with minor delays to traffic.

New Enterprise Stone and Lime is the lead contractor for the 3.4-mile pavement and bridge restoration project. The work will cost $6 million and is expected to be completed by Oct. 14.
