Houtzdale woman killed in 2-vehicle crash in Clearfield County

A 47-year-old Houtzdale woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday in Clearfield County.

According to state police, the victim was driving a 2005 Ford Escape south on Route 53, Crooked Sewer Road, about 1:57 p.m. when the vehicle crossed into the northbound lane of travel and struck a 2020 Peterbilt operated by a 39-year-old Madera man.

After the impact, the Escape spun across the roadway and hit the guiderail. The driver of the Escape was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clearfield County coroner.
