Quick-thinking neighbors rescued a man from a burning home Wednesday afternoon on the 1500 block of Allegheny Street, Hollidaysburg.
According to preliminary reports, one individual was trapped on the second floor of the home and the man’s father used a ladder to access the porch roof in an attempt to get to his son. Neighbors who saw the home become engulfed in flames hurried to check on the occupants and were able to get into the room and pull the unconscious man from the building. He was transported by ambulance to UPMC Altoona for treatment.
Reporter Colette Costlow, who remains at the scene, will have the full story in Thursday’s Altoona Mirror.
