Verobish

According to unofficial poll results, Republican candidate Andrea Verobish has won the special election in the 79th District to claim Lou Schmitt’s former seat in the state House of Representatives.

Schmitt swapped the legislative branch for the judicial in 2025 when he won a seat on the bench in Blair County.

Verobish was opposed by Democratic candidate Caleb McCoy.

Verobish finished with an unofficial tally of 5,330 to McCoy’s 3,923.
