Four city residents were taken into custody after a state parole compliance check led to the discovery of drug trafficking materials inside the parolee’s home.
Ryan Daniel Dodson, 44; Eugene Daniel Dodson, 77; Gary Andrew Frederick, 41; and Ruth Renee Rummell, 50, were all arraigned Monday evening by Magisterial District Judge Andrew L. Blattenberger on two felony counts each of possession with intent to deliver and conspiracy possession with intent to deliver, as well as single misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Ryan Dodson, Eugene Dodson and Rummell were remanded to the Blair County Prison in lieu of their respective $250,000 bails while Frederick remains free on $250,000 unsecured bail, online court documents state.
The Altoona Police Department’s Narcotics Division was contacted Monday by state parole officers, who reported they discovered drug paraphernalia while conducting a compliance check on parolee Ryan Dodson at a residence along East Grant Avenue, according to a post on APD’s Facebook page.
The state parole officers told APD they found scales, packaging material, money, a zip-top bag containing about 24.3 grams of suspected methamphetamine and several other zip-top bags containing suspected meth in Ryan Dodson’s room. A subsequent search warrant executed on the residence yielded about 1.3 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, various controlled pills, digital scales, packaging material and about $1,811 in cash, the post stated.
