An Indiana County man, already serving time for illegal possession of firearms, was sentenced this week to 57 months in prison on federal drug charges.

The sentence for Eldon Sajko, 55, of Penn Run includes five years of supervision following his release.

Sajko is currently serving a 10- to 20-year sentence after a Blair County jury in 2024 found him guilty of possessing firearms. Sajko has a long criminal history spanning four decades and three states and, as a convicted felon, is a person not to possess firearms.

In the federal case, Sajko, known as “Farmer,” was convicted of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl and heroin, and possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon, United States Attorney Troy Rivetti said in a news release.

According to information presented to the court, on March 21, 2021, in the Western District of Pennsylvania, Sajko possessed with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture of methamphetamine, along with quantities of cocaine, fentanyl and heroin.

On the same date, Sajko unlawfully possessed a firearm and ammunition.

In addition, on July 27, 2022, Sajko possessed with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture of methamphetamine, federal court documents state.

Sajko is awaiting another trial in Blair County, this one on a felony count of drug delivery resulting in death and related felony drug charges.

He was arrested in September 2022 after a monthslong investigation into the Feb. 18, 2022, overdose death of Joseph Charles Sr., 41. Charles was found unresponsive in a home on the 1600 block of 20th Avenue and efforts to revive him using Narcan were unsuccessful, police reported.

Sajko is scheduled for a status conference in the case on March 13 before Judge Jackie Bernard in Courtroom 3 at the Hollidaysburg courthouse, according to online court documents.

Starting at $2.99/week.
