Altoona police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred early Saturday morning on the 100 block of Sixth Avenue.

A 67-year-old male died from injuries suffered in the crash involving a motor vehicle and a motorized pedalcycle, police reported.

The victim was transported to UPMC Altoona and the Blair County Coroner’s office was called for a death investigation at 4:07 a.m., according to a news release.

The victim’s name is being held pending notification of next-of-kin. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, the coroner’s office reported.
