SFU offers menopause panel discussion
The Saint Francis University Social Work Department and the SFU Social Work Club will host “The M Factor: Let’s Talk Perimenopause and Menopause,” a film screening and panel discussion slated to run from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 26, in person and via Zoom.
The event will take place in Rooms 213/214 of the DiSepio Institute for Rural Health & Wellness on the Saint Francis University campus in Loretto. A light dinner will be provided for those attending in person.
Participants are eligible to receive two free Social Work Continuing Education Units.
Open to the general public, the program will feature a documentary focused on perimenopause and menopause, followed by a panel of health and mental health providers who will discuss common issues they see in clients and patients during this stage of life. The discussion aims to increase awareness, reduce stigma and provide evidence-based insight into the physical, emotional and mental health dimensions of midlife transitions.
The American Association of University Women Mini Grant sponsors the event.

Juniata mock trial teams headed to nationals
Two of Juniata College’s mock trial teams have earned spots in the opening round of the National Championship Series, joining a select group of schools — including Princeton, Cornell, Duke, Ohio State and Penn State — that field multiple teams at this national tournament.
After victories at American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) regional tournaments, Juniata’s Blue and Gold teams will compete March 14-15 in Hamilton, Ohio, at the historic Butler County Courthouse.
“The fact that both of our teams have advanced to the nationals speaks to the strength of our overall program for mock trial,” said coach attorney David Andrews.
More than 866 teams entered the American Mock Trial Association National Tournament at the start of the year, with playoff competitions taking place throughout the United States. Following the opening round, the remaining 48 teams will face off at the national championships in Washington, D.C., on April 17-19.
