Windmill loads to travel through region
PennDOT advises about potential for lengthy delays
Nacelle and windmill blade deliveries headed to the Ogle Township wind farm will travel through Bedford, Blair, Cambria and Somerset counties this week and next.
PennDOT is advising drivers about the potential for lengthy delays from the movement of these superloads today and Friday, and Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
Destined for the Cambria Wind LLC Farm off Route 56 in Ogle Township, Somerset County, the superloads are scheduled to travel south from Clearfield and Centre counties today and Friday, with additional loads traveling north from Maryland next week, Monday through Wednesday.
Nacelles are scheduled to leave Clearfield County at 7 and 8 a.m. and travel through Centre and Blair counties on I-99, on Route 22 through Blair and Cambria counties, and on Route 219 and Route 56 (Scalp Avenue) in Cambria and Somerset counties to the destination.
Windmill blades will depart from Maryland at 8, 9 and 10 a.m. and travel through Bedford County on Route 220/I-99, and Route 56 (Quaker Valley Road/Clear Shade Drive) through Bedford and Somerset counties to the wind farm.
Superloads may travel at the posted speed limit and slower as needed, and will occasionally pull over to allow traffic to pass.
