Whole milk returns to Williamsburg

After a hiatus of several years, students in the Williamsburg Community School District were served whole milk on Tuesday under the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act. The Act was signed into law on Jan. 14, allowing schools in the National School Lunch Program to offer whole milk, as well as the reduced-fat options.

School nurse Christine Ebersole said adding whole milk to the menu made Tuesday “a good day at Williamsburg School District.” Ebersole has worked 24 years in a hospital setting and nearly 20 years as a school nurse. She also volunteers with the Grassroots Pennsylvania Dairy Advisory Committee, working alongside 97 Milk.

Ritchey’s Dairy of Martinsburg supplies the school’s milk options.

Starting at $2.99/week.
