Roaring Spring man accused of assaulting coworker

Swope, tier II sex offender, allegedly sexually assaulted coworker

A Roaring Spring man and tier II sex offender is back behind bars with bail denied after allegedly assaulting a coworker.

Tanor William Swope, 33, was arraigned Friday by Magisterial District Judge Benjamin F. Jones on single felony counts of indecent deviant sexual intercourse by forcible compulsion, sexual assault and failure to register with state police, as well as single misdemeanor counts of indecent assault and simple assault. Swope was remanded to the Blair County Prison with bail denied as “no combination of conditions can ensure compliance” or public safety, online court documents state.

Freedom and Greenfield township police responded to Shirley’s Cookies in Claysburg about 3:58 p.m. Feb. 4 for a report of a sexual assault. The victim was taken to the Greenfield Township Police Department, where she told officers she was working when, about 2 p.m., she went to the women’s bathroom and noticed Swope was waiting outside. The victim said she entered a stall when Swope entered the bathroom and grabbed her, forced her to her knees, forcefully opened her mouth and put his genitals into her mouth, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

The victim said Swope left the bathroom after the assault. She told officers she didn’t immediately report the assault because she didn’t want to get in trouble at work. The victim ultimately reported the assault to her team lead about 3:15 p.m. before telling her friend, who then contacted police. The victim also told police that Swope previously used SnapChat to ask her for photos in exchange for money, so she blocked him, the report states.

In an interview, Swope initially told officers he barely knew the victim and had no sexual relationship with her. Eventually, he admitted they had a conversation over SnapChat, during which he offered to pay the victim $200 for oral sex at work. Swope said he and the victim work on the same line at the company and they met at the bathroom coincidentally, so she performed oral sex on him, the report states.

Officers also spoke with the line lead, who oversaw the victim and Swope. The line lead told officers that the victim asked and received permission to use the women’s bathroom and the lead noticed Swope leaving and going toward the bathrooms about three minutes later. The line lead said Swope and the victim returned in about five minutes, with the victim appearing anxious and eventually telling her what had happened, the report states.

The line lead also told officers that Swope had sent her a Facebook message in December 2025 asking her for nude photos in exchange for money, but she blocked him. Officers noted that Swope is compelled to register all of his social media accounts under Megan’s Law and that Swope had not registered the SnapChat account he used to contact the victim, according to the affidavit.

Swope is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Feb. 19 in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrew L. Blattenberger.
