Populations served: Blair, Centre, Huntington, Mifflin and Juniata counties for boys and girls from 5-20 years old in age-appropriate programs.

Area(s) of focus: The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

What services or programs does your nonprofit provide? Scouting’s aims are to Develop Character, Teach Citizenship, Model Personal Fitness and Instill Leadership Skills.

Upcoming events: The 2026 Council Camporee will take place at Curtin Village and Eagle Iron Work in Howard, Pa., from April 24-26. In July, Packs (Cub Scouts) and Troops (11- to 18-year-olds) will have the opportunity to spend a week, or a few days, at our 2026 Summer Camps held at 7 Mountains Scout Camp, just east of State College. In addition, individual units have many of their own activities throughout the year in addition to other Council events.

Additional Information: A number of Scouts will annually earn the Eagle Award, which is Scouting’s highest youth award. Two recently completed Eagle Leadership Projects featured in the Mirror included a sign welcoming folks to Hollidaysburg on Route 36 and a Gold Star Family Memorial at Legion Park. An Eagle Scout is currently working on a Bark Park at the Duncansville Memorial Park.
