State police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Feb. 4 in Napier Township, Bedford County.

Paul R. Stephenson, 70, of Davidsville was killed in the 9:15 a.m. accident on Route 30 near Vinyl Road, according to the state police report issued Tuesday.

According to the report, Stephenson was driving a 2017 Subaru Forester west on Lincoln Highway (Route 30) when an eastbound 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, operated by a 61-year-old male from Schellsburg, crossed over the center line and struck the Subaru head-on.

Stephenson was pronounced dead at the scene. A 31-year-old Altoona man, who was a passenger in his vehicle, was flown to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for treatment of suspected serious injuries, police reported.

The driver of the Silverado was transported to UPMC Altoona for treatment of suspected minor injuries.

Charges are pending in the investigation, the report states.
