Bedford County man held for rape
Dwyer faces felony charges in 2025 incident
A Bedford County man accused of rape is behind bars, unable to post $500,000 bail.
Micah Scott Dwyer, 39, was arraigned Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge Kayla Hetzel on several felony charges related to an alleged rape and sexual assault that occurred on Aug. 9, 2025, near his residence in Artemas.
The investigation began after the female victim sought treatment at Mount Nittany Medical Center and reported that she was a victim of sexual assault, court documents state.
Police interviewed her at the medical center, where she said she and Dwyer were riding a four-wheeler when he drove into the woods, said he missed her and wanted her to perform oral sex on him. When she said no, he showed her a sheath knife, told her she was “old enough now” and raped her.
The victim said Dwyer told her not to tell anyone and they rode back to his residence. The victim and her boyfriend then left and returned to their Huntingdon home.
The victim told police that she didn’t tell her boyfriend what happened until several days later. The only remaining item unwashed from after the assault was her sleeping bag, she told police.
When asked, the victim said Dwyer had previously touched her inappropriately in 2016 and 2022. Police reported there were open cases at that time, but the victim didn’t pursue anything further after family members discouraged her.
Dwyer was scheduled for an interview with police on Oct. 28, 2025, but he did not arrive at the Bedford state police barracks, the report states.
After multiple attempts were made to contact him, police sought and received an arrest warrant for Dwyer.
Dwyer is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Feb. 25 in Bedford County Central Court.
