State Sen. Judy Ward, a Republican representing the 30th Senatorial District, has announced her candidacy for re-election. Ward’s district includes Blair, Fulton, Huntingdon, Mifflin and Juniata counties.
“Representing the residents of the 30th District is an honor and privilege,” declared Ward. “I’m running for re-election to continue fighting for a stronger economy, access to quality and affordable healthcare and our God-given rights and liberties.”
In Harrisburg, Ward champions initiatives to improve health care access, support agriculture, enhance transportation and protect public safety.
As chair of the Senate Transportation Committee, she has been an advocate for infrastructure investments to increase safety on the region’s roads and bridges and strengthen the overall infrastructure which is essential for commerce and everyday life in the region.
A registered nurse, Ward has also been an advocate for life and families.
As chair of the Senate Maternal and Infant Health Caucus, she supports mothers, babies and families by promoting policies that improve health outcomes and expand access to care.
Ward has also been an advocate for school choice, supporting parents’ rights to choose the educational options that best meet their children’s needs and expanding opportunities for students across the commonwealth.
Ward is recognized as a conservative leader in the state Senate. She has championed conservative priorities, including fighting executive overreach during the pandemic, protecting Second Amendment rights, advancing a constitutional amendment to require voter ID, supporting community pharmacies, and passing the Save Women’s Sports Act, which protects women and girls from having to compete against biological males.
She is proudly pro-life and has consistently supported legislation that protects the unborn and upholds the sanctity of life.
Throughout her tenure, Ward has also championed laws to expand resources for Pennsylvania farmers, strengthen penalties for assaults on health care practitioners, and improve access to community-based health centers and mental health services.
Ward was elected to the Pennsylvania State Senate in 2018, following two terms in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. She is the first woman to represent the 30th Senate District.
