Tyrone raises parking ticket fees
New parking ticket fees went into effect in Tyrone Borough on Jan. 1. The proposal to raise the fees was adopted last year by the Borough Council.
Among the major changes are fees for meter violations, now set at $10 (with half off in the first half hour). Parking against traffic is now $50 and parking in front of a fire hydrant or in a handicap spot is $100.
Parking space rental fees are: parking meter bags, $10/day; parking spaces in municipal lots, $30/month; business parking permits (one per business), $50 a month; and replacement of lost or stolen parking permits, $20.
Parking meter violations are now: backing into meter stall, $10; bus zone, $20; no parking zone, $20; double parking, $20; sidewalk, $20; more than six inches from the curb, $20; less than 25 feet from an intersection, $20; parked overtime in a two-hour zone, $20; parking against traffic, $50; handicap spot, $100; blocking driveway or garage, $20; fire hydrant, $100; and repairs of vehicle on the roadway, $30.
