Steeg seeks state Senate seat

Business owner to challenge Ward

Steeg

Sean Steeg, a local small business owner and community advocate, has announced his candidacy for Pennsylvania’s 30th Senatorial District.

The District, which includes Juniata, Mifflin, Huntingdon, Blair and Fulton counties, is currently represented by Republican Sen. Judy Ward.

Steeg said he is running for the seat because many families in the region feel like Harrisburg has become a place where dysfunction is the norm.

“Costs keep rising, our schools are underfunded and working people are being left behind,” he said.

Leadership that understands what it takes to create jobs, support local businesses and build strong communities is needed, Steeg said.

As the owner of a locally rooted brewery in Huntingdon County, he said he has firsthand experience meeting payroll, navigating rising costs and contributing to the local economy.

In 2024, he ran for State House, building a grassroots campaign focused on economic fairness, support for public education and accountability in government. He has also previously served as vice president of Huntingdon Borough Council.

Steeg said he knows how important it is to invest in communities and make smart, practical decisions that meet the moment and prepare for the future.

In Harrisburg, Steeg said he would fight for good-paying jobs, affordable health care, fully funded public schools and a government that works instead of failing to do basic tasks like passing a budget.

Starting at $2.99/week.
