Ex-Admiral Peary official charged with felony theft

Revesz accused of stealing more than $30,000 from school

The former business manager at Admiral Peary Area Professional Technical School has been charged with stealing more than $30,000 from the school over a three-year period, according to court documents.

Michael Douglas Revesz, 58, of Colver was arraigned Wednesday by Magisterial District Judge David L. Beyer on three felony counts of theft. Revesz waived his right to a preliminary hearing that same day, sending the charges against him to the Cambria County Court of Common Pleas.

The state police organized crime unit in Ebensburg filed the charges against Revesz on Wednesday, alleging that Revesz “utilized services, purchased building supplies, automotive parts, tools, pool supplies, health supplies and retained cash deposits all belonging to the Vo-Tech for his personal use” while working as the school’s business manager between Dec. 1, 2021, and Feb. 1, 2025, according to a release from the Cambria County District Attorney’s Office.

Revesz reportedly took about $34,807 in that period, the release stated.

“While a case like this understandably raises issues of trust with those in positions of leadership — within a school or otherwise — the ‘whistleblowers’ who report when something is amiss must be commended,” Cambria County DA Jessica F. Aurandt wrote in the release.

Aurandt also recognized the “hard work and dedication” of the state police, whose investigation into the matter was “extensive.”

Revesz remains free on $50,000 unsecured bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 17.

Starting at $2.99/week.
