Altoona Area School District teacher charged for nude pictures

AASD’s Green allegedly shared two photos of naked minor girls

An Altoona Area School District teacher has been suspended without pay following a monthslong investigation into allegations that he sent photos of naked or partially naked minors over a private messaging platform.

Duncansville resident Jeremy Gene Green, 43, was arraigned Friday by Magisterial District Judge Matthew Dunio on three felony counts of disseminating child sexual abuse material and a felony count of criminal use of a communication facility, as well as two misdemeanor counts of design/copy obscene material depicting a minor. Green remains free on $100,000 unsecured bail.

According to the affidavit, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a report on July 3, 2025, from MediaLab/Kik that a user uploaded two files depicting naked or partially naked children to another Kik user.

State police were assigned the case and reported that one photo showed two naked female children between the ages of 8 and 12 standing in front of a waterfall. The other photo showed a female child about 6 or 7 years old partially dressed and posing inappropriately.

Kik provided the username, email address and IP address. Police used a subpoena to get subscriber information from Breezeline, linking the account to Green, the report states.

A search warrant was served shortly before 6:30 a.m. Dec. 5, 2025, at Green’s home in Duncansville.

Police said Green read the search warrant, sighed and said “OK.” Police asked Green to explain himself, to which he responded that “there is no good answer and added he was being stupid,” the affidavit states.

Green provided a written statement explaining his actions, where he wrote that an individual had a set of pictures they shared with him. He said the nature of the chatroom was that users were “encouraged to share with others.”

Green wrote that “it was more about the private, taboo nature than the sexual gratification,” the report states.

The affidavit states that no files depicting the sexual abuse of children were found on any of Green’s devices.

Green was suspended without pay after the school district was made aware of the investigation on Dec. 5. Green is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in front of Dunio on Feb. 12.

Starting at $2.99/week.
