Virginia man killed in Bedford crash

A 61-year-old Virginia man was killed in a three-vehicle crash Thursday in Bedford County.

According to state police, the accident occurred about 5 p.m. on Route 30, near Pensyl Hollow Road in Bedford Township.

The report states that a Chevrolet Tahoe, towing another vehicle on a trailer, was traveling east on Route 30 when the driver failed to notice that a Chevrolet Equinox was stopped to make a turn. The driver of the Tahoe tried to go around the Equinox, but struck the vehicle. A Dodge Ram struck the Tahoe, which had entered the westbound lane. The Tahoe and trailer separated during the crash, police reported.

The driver of the Tahoe was taken to UPMC Bedford with serious injuries. The passenger in that vehicle, Tracy V. Sabb, of Newport News, Va., was killed in the crash.

The occupants of the other vehicles reportedly suffered minor injuries.
