The Mill acquires tenant for portion of building

Muni-Link to rent remaining space on second floor

Altoona Silk Mills Properties Inc., owners of “The Mill” in partnership with the Altoona Blair County Development Corporation, has executed a lease with their latest tenant to the building.

Muni-Link LLC will occupy the remaining space on the second floor, Units 201 and 202, totaling more than 16,700 rentable square feet.

Muni-Link is part of the Neptune Technology Group brand, a software company headquartered in Tallassee, Ala., which supports more than 4,000 water utilities across North America.

Roper Technologies, a venture capital firm and Neptune’s parent company, recently purchased Muni-Link, a spin-out business of Blair County-based Link Computer Corporation.

“This is another major step forward for The Mill’s development potential and a win for our local economy,” said Stephen McKnight, ABCD Corp. president and CEO. “Not only is The Mill contributing to the growth of a home-grown Blair County business, but it is also continuing to help rejuvenate an important city neighborhood with new employees and foot traffic to surrounding businesses.”

Muni-Link has grown to become one of the leading utility bill management software companies in the U.S., established to serve local governments and municipal authorities.

The Mill will serve as the new headquarters for the Muni-Link operation to more effectively serve its rapidly growing customer base and software development demands.

“We are excited about our move to the Mill, a space that aligns well with our vision for growth and innovation,” said Chuck Brunson, Neptune vice president and Muni-Link general manager. “This new location will provide us with a dynamic environment for our employees to collaborate and innovate together. We look forward to building a workplace that inspires creativity and teamwork.”

The new office location will initially support the existing team with the ability to grow to more than 100 in the next few years. Leonard S. Fiore Inc. was chosen by SMP as the general contractor for their improvements.

“Muni-Link joins the Reliance Bank headquarter offices as the second anchor tenant in The Mill,” said John Radionoff, president of Silk Mills Properties. “The remaining condominium units are currently being evaluated by other potential office tenants, so we hope future announcements, including restaurants within The Mill, are not far away.”

Starting at $2.99/week.
