The Portage Area School Board approved a $209,000 bid from Allegheny Restorations for a stone wall repair project at the district’s football stadium during a meeting Wednesday.

Superintendent Pete Noel said mortar joints within the stadium’s walls will be replaced as part of the project.

District officials will contact the company to set up a timeline soon, Noel said, noting officials hope to have the work done over the summer in time for the next football season.

Prior to the board’s regular session meeting, the board held its reorganization meeting and reappointed Kathy Hough as its president and Susan Berardinelli as its vice president.

Newcomers Kelli Swires and Lisa Dividock were also sworn in, alongside incumbents Matthew Decort and John Jubina. All four board members were elected to fill four-year terms.
