Cambria County community support groups receive $600K in tax credits
Four community support organizations in Cambria County were awarded almost $600,000 in tax credits, according to a press release from state Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria.
The awards come from the state’s Neighborhood Assistance Program, which received $72 million in the new state budget.
The organizations receiving awards are:
— JARI: $33,150 for job training for in-demand jobs to combat local poverty with family-sustaining wages.
— Cambria County Library System: $35,550 for ADA-accessible renovations and training for staff to help residents with disabilities access government resources.
— The Learning Lamp Inc.: $171,000 to help child care providers by offering free business coaching and a schools-to-work pipeline with tuition assistance.
— Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank: $351,351 for a partnership with Brian Campbell Farms to distribute fresh produce and frozen protein to 2,145 households monthly in Cambria and Armstrong counties.
“These organizations train people for good jobs, provide much-needed healthy food, and help people with disabilities, among other things,” Burns said. “I appreciate everything these organizations do, and I’m glad the state can help.”
