Area briefs: House fire claims two in Everett

Two people were killed in a Bedford County fire late Tuesday night.
According to state police, firefighters responded about 11:30 p.m. to the 1300 block of Rock Hill Church Road, Monroe Township, Everett, where it was reported there was a fire with entrapment.
The home was a total loss and the state police fire marshal has been called in to investigate.
Two bodies were recovered from the home.
No other details were available.
Claysburg man killed in crash
One person was killed in a Saturday afternoon crash on Bobs Creek Road, Osterburg.
According to state police, Larry P. Ferguson, 53, of Claysburg was driving north in a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck about 5:30 p.m. when an 82-year-old Osterburg man, operating a small Kubota tractor, turned to enter a driveway and struck the roof area of the truck with the front loader of the tractor.
Ferguson was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.
Two passengers in the pickup, a 16-year-old male and a 19-year-old female, were transported to UPMC Altoona for treatment of minor injuries, the report states.
State police are investigating the crash.
