UPMC Magee-Womens Altoona recognized
UPMC Magee-Womens at UPMC Altoona has once again achieved the highest distinction as a 2026 High Performing Hospital for Maternity Care from U.S. News & World Report — the most prestigious honor awarded in the publication’s Best Hospitals for Maternity Care rankings. They were also recognized as a 2026 Maternity Care Access Hospital, which recognizes hospitals offering essential maternity services to underserved communities that would otherwise be in danger of becoming maternity care deserts.
Each year, nearly 25,000 babies are born in UPMC hospitals that provide obstetric care, highlighting UPMC’s reputation as a reliable choice for families who want top-quality maternity services that best meet their family’s needs.
UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital anchors Pennsylvania’s largest network of top-rated maternity care. Alongside UPMC Altoona, five other UPMC hospitals also earned High Performing status in maternity care and six other UPMC hospitals earned the Maternity Care Access designation.
