PennDOT centers closed

All PennDOT driver license and photo centers will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day.

Customers may still obtain a variety of driver and vehicle products and services, including all forms, publications and driver training manuals, online through PennDOT’s Driver and Vehicle Services website at pa.gov/agencies/dmv.

Driver and vehicle online services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There are no additional fees for using online services.

I-99 work begins Monday

A long-term lane closure on I-99, from the 17th Street Exit to the Frankstown Road Exit in Blair County, will begin Monday, Nov. 10, and continue through Friday, Dec. 19.

During this time, the southbound auxiliary lane and 10-foot shoulder of I-99 will be closed between. Barriers and channelizers will be used to guide traffic. The travel and passing lanes will remain open.

New Enterprise Stone and Lime Inc., New Enterprise, is the contractor for the $23.5 million project, which includes improvements along 10-miles of I-99 from the median cross-over near Newry to 17th Street exit in Blair County.

Delays expected in Roaring Spring

Minor delays should be expected as work continues on the intersection improvement project on Route 36 (Woodbury Pike) and Route 164 (Cove Mountain Road) in Roaring Spring Borough and Taylor Township in Blair County.   

Beginning Monday, Nov. 10, contractors will be installing loop sensors for traffic signal control near the entrance of Spring Cove School District, repairing driveway entrances and completing signage installation on Route 164 (Cove Mountain Road).

Cottle’s Asphalt Maintenance, Everett, is the contractor for the $2.06 million intersection improvement project, which includes shoulder widening and the addition of turning lanes, as well as utility relocation and drainage upgrades and sidewalk replacement. The project is slated for completion in November.
