Freedom, Taylor townships enter joint agreement for police services

Freedom, Taylor reach agreement

The Freedom Township Police Department and Taylor Township have entered into a Joint Municipal Agreement for law enforcement services.

The agreement will take effect on Dec. 1, and at that time, the Freedom Township Police Department will be handing all police-related calls for service in Taylor Township while an officer is on duty.

Freedom Township police will serve the citizens of Freedom Township, Newry Borough and Taylor Township, said Chief Nathan W. Claycomb in a press release.

Residents living within Taylor Township can call 911 as normal and calls will be directed to the proper agency, he said.
