Students at the Portage Area Junior-Senior High School are inviting veterans to attend their Veterans Day ceremony next Friday, Nov. 7.

The event is open to the public. There will be presentations and performances by students in the high school auditorium, followed by a small luncheon. Chicken will be served by student council members, school officials said.

Members of the Portage Veterans Ritual Team are expected to salute the United States flag and perform a gun salute at the end of the ceremony, officials said, noting representatives from the AMVETS Post 150 and AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary will also be present.
