Jen Marsh, of Bedford, president and CEO of the Bedford County Development Association, has been appointed to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission’s Consumer Advisory Council, which provides input to the PUC on issues important to utility customers. She will serve through June 30, 2027.

Marsh brings more than 15 years of professional experience in communications, organizational leadership and community development. Her expertise includes building public-private partnerships, advancing rural infrastructure and engaging a broad cross section of stakeholders.

Jennifer Koontz, trauma program manager at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, has been named a 2025 Trauma Leadership Excellence Scholar by the National Quality Systems Trauma TEAMS Scholarship program. This national recognition honors trauma professionals who demonstrate exceptional leadership and a commitment to advancing trauma systems and patient care.

acuity care across a broad region and driving innovations in team coordination, staff education, and patient outcomes. Her participation in the program will further strengthen trauma care at Conemaugh Memorial and beyond, providing her with advanced education, mentorship and professional networking opportunities.

Dr. Kathleen Sweeney, associate director of the UPMC Altoona Family Medicine Residency, director of the Transitional Year Residency Program and director of Osteopathic Education for Graduate Medical Education at UPMC Altoona, recently received the Family Physician of the Year Award from the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Family Physicians Society.

Dr. Sweeney was nominated by doctors Jefferson Adams, Clayton Vasey and Megan Thompson, third-year residents in the family medicine program. They recognized her unwavering commitment to advancing osteopathic medicine, providing exceptional education to the residents of the program and delivering patient-centered care.

Richard M. Serbin of Altoona was recently named to the 2025/2026 Best Lawyers in America, as well as PA Super Lawyers.
