A Tyrone woman is behind bars after allegedly giving meth to a 5-year-old child.

The Tyrone Borough Police Department arrested Chelsey Jean Judd, 22, on Wednesday after an investigation into a child abuse referral made by Blair County Children, Youth and Families.

During an interview in April, the child told police that Judd told her to “take the bong and hit it” during an incident sometime between March 9 and the April report.

Judd allegedly said they were going to die and she hoped they did, the child told police. The girl said she was dizzy after smoking from the bong, the report states.

During the course of the investigation, police learned that Judd would use methamphetamine in front of the children, according to court documents.

During a June interview with Blair CYS, Judd allegedly admitted to using methamphetamine and having drug paraphernalia around the home.

According to a post on the Tyrone Borough Police Department’s Facebook page, Judd was taken into custody after a search warrant was executed on her residence. While officers were on scene Wednesday, police were told Judd was hiding in a neighboring apartment. Police located her hiding in a pile of clothing, the report states.

Judd was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Benjamin F. Jones on two felony counts of endangering the welfare of children and a felony count of possession with intent to deliver, along with misdemeanor charges of corruption of minors, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, along with a summary harassment charge.

She was remanded to the Blair County Prison after being unable to post $200,000 bail.

Her preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 17 before Jones.

Tyrone police said additional charges will be filed against Judd pertaining to the search warrant and flight to avoid apprehension.

In a separate case, Judd faces a felony charge of conspiracy to retail theft and a summary charge of retail theft.

That incident is listed as occurring on May 26, according to online court documents.
